Golden Hearts Dog Rescue operates by focusing on dogs who have been fostered and choosing dogs with good dispositions and temperments.  We have established a network where our colleagues know the type of dog we are interested in.  We then put their picture up on the Petfinder web site (click here for our page on their website) with a brief description.  We  ask individuals who are interested in our dogs to submit an application (click here for application).  Once the application has been filled out, please mail to:application@ghdr.org.  We will then contact the individual to discuss the match between the dog and the individual's family. 

We hope you understand that we emphasize  the needs of our dogs first and foremost.  It is not uncommon for a number of individuals to be interested in a dog on our site.  We then use a number of factors to determine the best match.  It has been our experience those individuals who did not get their first choice of a dog on our site and waited for us to find them another dog were more than completely satisfied with the second choice dog.   We have had much success with our procedures and continue to review and refine them where necessary.
